Ruti
back to rosterRuti’s story is all about finding her voice. It’s seen her go from Sixth Form student to prime-time TV to top of the charts in a flash. Practically overnight millions of people knew the sound of her celestial tones. A year after the release of her debut single “Dreams”, which hit number one on the iTunes chart, Ruti’s 2019 iTunes chart topping debut four-track EP, ‘Racing Cars’, arrived. After the release of the ‘Racing Cars’ EP, Ruti broke away from the management and label deal with Polydor. She took her independence without missing a beat, choosing instead to build her own team in a more organic way, on her own terms. There’s a sense that with her new material Ruti has captured her sound—Ruti’s found her voice.
Now having a second EP release under her belt, Ruti has found a new home at PMR (EMI) and has made quite the impression across the media. The 4-track project was quick to gain the attentions of tastemakers with praise from Clash, Wonderland, The Line of Best Fit, Complex, Lyrical Lemonade and BBC Radio, as well as platinum selling artist Tyler, The Creator – who not only shared her single across his social media but also personally slid into her DM’s.
Opening up for Hope Tala, Jordan Rakei and Mahalia on their tours this year, Ruti’s celestial tones will be heard far and wide, up and down the country.
