Hailing from Portsmouth, Harvey Jay Dodgson started playing the guitar at the age of 7 and by 9 years of age had written his first piece of music. Early inspiration came from the likes of Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday and the free-flowing vocal melodies of Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles. Later drawn to jazz-influenced artists, King Krule and Cosmo Pyke who inspired him to experiment further and he was soon ready to create his own music.

Written with Michael Smith (Wolf Alice, Anteros) at RYP Studios,last April, his debut EP ‘Oxygen’, saw Dodgson’s grainy vocals turn heads across national radio, TV and press, being named as BT TV and Scotts Menswear’s ‘One to Watch 2021’, as well as receiving a glowing review from Clash Magazine.

2022 has seen Harvey play The Great Escape Festival, Isle of Wight Festival and High Tide Festival, 110 Above Festival and Victorious Festival with Harvey’s appearances in the live scene set to get bigger and bigger following backing from Alex Hardee (Liam Gallagher, Sia, Clean Bandit) of Wasserman booking agency.
